California Bank & Trust, a commercial bank that specializes in turning business and individual dreams and goals into success stories is currently seeking extraordinary, experienced talent for the prestigious role of Special Assets Loan Administration. 


If you have what it takes to: 

  • Oversee a classified loan portfolio consisting of secured and unsecured commercial credits, in amounts up to the legal lending limit.

  • Maximize recovery of active and charge-off credits and minimize Bank loan losses in assigned portfolio.

  • Review customer's financial position and make credit recommendations.

  • Negotiate to restructure and/or pay-off loans.

  • Represent the Bank to legal counsel, real estate brokers, appraisers, and other agencies.

  • Recommend risk grades and accrual status to ensure appropriate Bank reserve levels.

  • Follow-up on and implement collection strategies and action plans to resolve credit problems.

  • Minimize collection and legal expenses incurred.

  • Provide periodic written and oral reports to allow management to properly assess and manage loss exposure.

What you bring to the table:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business or other related field.

  • 10 years of experience as a commercial lending officer, including 5 years of very complex commercial loan workout experience.

  • Experience contributing to the development of new loan workout theories and methods.

  • Advanced knowledge as a generalist or specialist in this field.

  • Extensive knowledge of commercial credit policy and commercial loan documentation.

  • Advanced knowledge of commercial and bankruptcy laws for highly complex or unique market segments.

  • Advanced analytical ability to understand and analyze highly complex corporate and individual financial statements.

  • Advanced negotiation and communication skills to deal with sensitive situations and with all levels of management.

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
